Prelude: The
Probationer presents him or herself to the Examiner, being a Neophyte
or of a higher grade, at least seven days before the required grade
test, to entrust the Magick Record and the two essays for review. If
the Examiner, after critically evaluating the documents, finds the
minimum requirement has been satisfied, the documents are returned to
the Probationer and the time and place of the grade test is set, at
least three days in advance of testing.
Grade Test:
1.
Random technical questions are asked covering Magical Tools,
Basic Principles of Ritual, Yoga, Law of Thelema, Qabalah, and the
Magical Alphabet. As many questions as required to verify adequate
knowledge justifying advancement to the grade of Neophyte. Finding the
technical comprehension adequate, the grade test proceeds. Else the
Probationer is dismissed.
2.
Random questions are asked cover the reading material on the
Required Reading List. As many questions as required to verify
adequate knowledge justifying advancement to the grade of Neophyte.
Finding adequate comprehension and review of the reading material, the
grade test proceeds, else the Probationer is dismissed.
3.
The Probationer performs a Circle Casting ritual with their
custom written quarter calls. Finding adequate skill in the
performance of the ritual and some ability to charge the circle and
project the calls to the quarters, the grade test proceeds, else the
Probationer is dismissed.
4.
The Probationer perfectly recites Liber
X or one Chapter of Liber LXV,
else the Probationer is dismissed.
5.
Firm questioning on the irrevocable step onto the Tree of Life
and the other implications of advancement into the grade of Neophyte.
Finding adequate understanding of the process, commitment, and
consequences of advancing into the next grade, the Probationer passes
the grade test and is scheduled for the Seal of Life grade
entrance ritual.
6.
Additionally, instructed to, after great consideration, choose
a motto and to bring a new Record and Journal.
Let the Probationer make a record of the grade test as the
last entry in the Magick Journal and Record for the grade.
Self
Initiation
Let the Probationer take careful
note of the above instruction and the procedure and its intent.
Let the Circle Casting ritual, with the accompanying
quarter calls, be performed with strongest intent and the most
forceful projection within the capability of the Probationer.
Let the Probationer dwell within
the circle and thoughtfully review the essay on their Suitability of
Initiation, followed by a complete review of the Magick Record and
Journal.
If
the Probationer commits to passage into Neophyte, let him follow these
steps:
1)
Choose, with great care and deliberation, a motto to serve as
his or her Magical Name for the grade of Neophyte.
2)
Let the Magical Record and Journal for the grade of Probationer
be finished with an account of the passage onto the Tree of Life.
3)
Let the Probationer acquire a new Magical Record and Journal
for the grade of Neophyte.
4)
Let the last task of the Probationer and the first task of the
Neophyte be the rewriting of the Seal of Life grade entrance
ritual (see below) suitable to self-initiation.
5)
Let the ritual be the first record in the new Magick Record and
an account of the writing the first record in the Magick Journal.
Although self-initiation is a
difficult process fraught with unique dangers, necessity does, on some
occasions, warrant the risks. Success shall be the reward, if only the
Will stays strong and the sense of self remains unbound.

perfect and pure.
Endorser: I, who am within the gate,
