You see upon the Earth I
stand,
A torch I bear up in my hand
To ward away the darkling sea;
This night which shrouds and frightens me.
I dare not look, mine eyes are closed.
The demons circle unopposed.
I hear their shrieks, I feel their breath.
I know that I am close to death.
Wisdom says I must fear not
These shadow wraiths 'You silly sot!
'They're but walls you've built with fear
'But now the reckoning is near.'
Folly says 'Give up the race!
'And fall into the dark embrace
'Of ignorance; you have no chance!
'Come and dance the Devil's dance.'
Mine eyes do fill and flow with tears
I feel the heat of demon leers
The fear has almost run it's course;
I must repel this stagnant force!
But this fear to not succeed
Has ever kept this kitten treed,
Afraid, in doubt, to try his ware
Terrified, in fact, to dare.
But therein lies the magick key
Which unlocks every mystery.
There is no wrong in feeling fear ---
Just remember: persevere!
I look up to the starry night,
And sense to my utmost delight
That I am not alone, too true,
When wrapped up in the arms of Nu.
Mine heart beats strong and true indeed
While searching for the buried seed
Within myself, that it may grow
Into the Tree that I may show
These demons that a King here reigns
Beyond this body's cold remains.
The temple stands here sentinel,
Protecting from the infidel!
This solid ground I stand upon
To fight the evil Choronzon
Is foundation for my Palace
Wherein hides the sacred Chalice.
The King there stands with brandished Sword
Undoubtedly, He is the Lord.
To his left arm is lashed the Shield,
To bear him witness ne'er to Yield.
Toward his foe, a finger flaming
Points towards the demons, shaming
In fear and cowardice, they cringe
And roil for they can feel the singe
Of fire. Hear the King's thunderous roar.
It echoes loud; right to the core
Of Choronzon --- yea he can hear it!
Indominatable Spirit!
The fear is gone, it could not last
When the will is standing fast.
Hear it loud across the lands:
A King of Kings here surely stands!
In his desperate search for life
He's ended all internal strife.
With all the light that one can bear,
The King is raised into the air.
